The Daihatsu Hijet is todays inspiration for wit. Driving to work I got stuck behind a tiny van that I could identify only with the words HI JET. It turned out to be someone I knew but the van was apalling - tiny, old and loud for such a small capacity engine. I didn’t really want to slam it completely cos I was friends with the guy but if theres anyone poluting enough to pay most tax its little inefficient old vans like used daihatsu hijets that need to be taken off the roads - they probably produced a lot more carbon than a modern equivalent even lorry, this one even had holes in the exhaust, hence the sound.
